About me

I'm Duncan Shea. I've spent most of my career working at the intersection of software and operations. I started as a web developer and consultant, then spent eight years at AppFolio, where I eventually led a 27-person team responsible for two product lines.

Since then, I've led implementation, customer operations, and partnerships at software companies in real estate, insurance, and AI. A lot of that work has involved the same basic problem: understanding how work actually gets done, finding what's slowing it down, and building a better process around it.

That's also what I do now. I work directly with businesses to find manual, repetitive work that can be automated, then build the systems to automate it. I bring both sides of my background to the work: I understand the operational problem, and I'm technical enough to build the solution.

I live in San Clemente with my wife and our two kids.
